The Role:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for selling the company’s unique portfolio solutions into clients within the consumer packaged goods sector as well as their digital/direct marketing & sales promotions agencies.
Success will depend on the ability to build relationships at all levels, enthusiasm to influence decisions and the tenacity and resilience to win over more challenging accounts. This requires a professional, consultative style and good commercial awareness.
You will have gravitas and the ability to hold your own when putting a business case to senior level professionals and ideally have knowledge of online marketing/promotional marketing as well as an appreciation of technology. You must be an effective planner, and have a real desire to progress your career.
Selling is the main role, but the person will play an intrinsic role in the ongoing development and decision making for the UK business.
Responsibilities:
- Meet sales targets through carefully managing the sales cycle – establishing initial contact and ensuring regular future contact is maintained.
- Define client campaign requirements accurately to Client Services team.
- Proactively identify and close opportunities in a face-to-face meetings.
- Building business relationships with clients and their agencies.
- Maintain an accurate profile/status for each customer.
- Attending tradeshows, seminars and other networking events.
- Devise sales campaigns and sales support activities.
Skills & Experience
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Solution selling & influencing skills and techniques. (consultative sales style).
Experience
- Min 3 years sales experience possibly within online media, marketing or agency sales.
- Experience selling over the phone and in face-to-face client meetings.
- Ideal candidates will have sold to marketing personnel otherwise any solution or service sales will relevant.
- Proven track record within B2B sales is required.
